Job Opportunity: Commissioning Engineer – Battery Energy Storage
We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join one of Australia’s leading energy storage projects. This role focuses on the commissioning of a large-scale 500 MW / 1,000 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) — a nationally significant project supporting grid stability and Australia's renewable energy transition.
Key Details:Start Date: 1st June 2025Contract: 6 months (with strong extension potential)Roster: 6 days on, 1 day off (10-hour shifts)Location: NSW
What You'll Be Doing:Lead and execute the commissioning of advanced BESS systems.Collaborate with construction, controls, and project management teams.Oversee system testing across communications, HV electrical systems, relay protection, and battery/inverter subsystems.Drive project handover from construction to operations teams.
What We're Looking For:2+ years commissioning experience (ideally in BESS projects).Strong electrical background (electrical license is a plus).Experience with transformers and system troubleshooting.Must have BESS experience.Must also have HV electrical experience.Ability to develop and manage commissioning plans.A proactive, safety-first approach and strong collaboration skills.
