Your Role

The Communications & Media Advisor will play a key role in lifting IAQ’s communications, media engagement, and brand presence. In this newly created position, you’ll lead content creation, campaigns, media liaison and member communications while supporting the CEO, Board, committees and strategic partners.

You’ll develop and deliver communication strategies that align with IAQ’s strategic priorities, create engaging content across channels, and represent IAQ’s voice in media and public-facing platforms.

About You

You’re a strategic communicator with strong media instincts and a creative mindset. You know how to create great content, engage audiences, and build strong media and stakeholder relationships. You’re confident working autonomously in a flexible, fast-paced role, and love contributing as part of a small, values-driven team.

You bring previous experience in media, public relations, corporate communications or stakeholder engagement—and are ready to make your mark.

Key Criteria

  • Proven experience in media, public relations or strategic communications

  • Strong writing, editing and digital content creation skills

  • Ability to design and implement comms strategies and campaigns

  • Confident engaging with media and managing public-facing comms

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and stakeholder engagement experience

  • Self-starter with strong organisational skills and a flexible, can-do attitude

  • Tech savvy—comfortable using Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams and cloud platforms

  • Experience in infrastructure or government sectors is a bonus

Work Arrangements

  • Part-time, flexible hours – minimum 15 hours per week over 3+ days

  • Work-from-home with in-person meetings in Brisbane CBD approx. fortnightly

  • Contract role – ABN/ACN preferred but flexible to discuss PAYG engagement

  • Remuneration commensurate with experience
