Community Services Manager - Permanency Support Program (PSP) The Opportunity The Community Services Manager provides leadership, direction and operational business management across permanency support program areas, including foster care and supported independent living, and these areas are geographically spanning Central Coast, Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, the Hunter and Western Region. Community Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day service operations to ensure smooth service operation in accordance with defined strategy and policy determined by the Executive Leadership Team and the Board this also includes child wellbeing and child protection services. The successful applicant will also need to demonstrate a track record of successful project management and delivering outcomes. Responsibilities You will be expected to leverage the organisation wide visibility to improve practice and outcomes for 'People We Support' across Samaritans business. You will also be responsible for overseeing day to day operations, this includes: Providing strong, supportive and consultative leadership and supervision for service team leaders and specialist cliniciansManaging and supporting teams through transformational changeEnsuring that services meet funding and legislative obligationsBeing accountable for finances including annual service budgets, staffing levels and resource allocationPromoting a culture of quality service provision and service excellence.Oncall duties are shared within the team on a rotating roster About You A graduate degree qualification in Social Welfare, Social Work, Psychology and/or commensurate experienceDemonstrated successful track record for 3 years management in out of home care care/permanency support program (foster care experience preferred), child protection or community services programsAt least 5 years’ experience in direct work with children/young people in the community services sectorDemonstrated knowledge and implementation of all relevant legislation pertaining to child protection, out of home care, permanency principles, as well as research, reforms, publications which inform current thinking regarding best practice and the safeguarding of children.Experience working in partnership with stakeholders, including DCJDemonstrated successful track record in management of varied Human ServicesDemonstrated ability in consultation, service development, planning and project implementationDemonstrated ability to manage people, achieve appropriate outcomes and build and lead respectful and high functioning teamsProven written and oral skills of a high orderDemonstrated ability to respond to complaints and critical incidents in a timely and professional manner.Demonstrated financial acumen. Experience in developing and managing budgets for a number of service types The successful applicant will possess a valid NSW Working with Children Check, Drivers Licence, first aid & CPR certificate and be willing to undertake a pre-employment criminal history check and functional medical.
