We are seeking a motivated and reliable Compactor Operator to help maintain the cleanliness and presentation of our community’s open space areas. In this permanent role, you'll play a key part in delivering a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming environment for all. Duties will include all aspects of the street cleaning role, including but not limited to; sweeping streets, picking up litter, operating light machinery and driving plant equipment. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated footpath sweeper operations/street cleaning experience, a strong work ethic and commitment to maintaining public areas to the highest standard. You will also possess a proactive attitude with the ability to follow directions and work with minimal supervision. Essential Recent driving experience driving/operating trucks/compactors.Class LR Driver’s Licence.Sound understanding of safety requirements in performing driving and cleaning tasks.Proven ability to follow procedures and instructions and be able to communicate with customers on routine matters.Be physically fit.Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision.Basic reading and writing skills Desirable Demonstrated ability to carry out basic mechanical maintenance tasksRecent experience operating sweeping machinesMR Licence Why work at North Sydney Council?
