Tasks & responsibilities

Examine foodstuffs to ensure quality and freshness.
Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment to ensure optimal cooking conditions.
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes following traditional Indian recipes.
Season food appropriately during cooking to enhance flavoUr.
Portion food, arrange it on plates, and add gravies, sauces, and garnishes for presentation.
Store food in temperature-controlled facilities to maintain freshness and safety.
Prepare meals to meet special dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.
May assist in planning menus and estimating food requirements based on customer demand.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
May train and mentor other kitchen staff and apprentices to maintain high culinary standards.

Qualifications & experience

Relevant Qualification & Proven experience as a Cook, preferably in an Indian restaurant.
Strong knowledge of Indian cuisine, spices, and cooking techniques.
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistency in food preparation.
