Tasks & responsibilities

• Assist in running the day-to-day kitchen duties 
• Prepare, season, and cook different foods as per the menu and customer orders,
• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc)
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene,
• Communicate orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages
• Receiving, storing, stock segregation, and keep records of foodstuffs used
• Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently,
• Use methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing cooked food with utensil,
• Portion, arrange and garnish food, and place in different platters
• Supervise and manage junior cooks and kitchen staff
