Public Sector People are proud to be partnering with Georges River Council to recruit a highly capable Coordinator Development Assessment. This is an exciting leadership opportunity to drive best-practice planning outcomes and support sustainable development across a growing LGA.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager Development & Building, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of the Development Assessment team. Your responsibilities will include:
Coordinating development assessment operations to ensure timely and effective planning decisionsMentoring and supporting staff across assessment functionsEnsuring compliance with relevant legislation and planning instrumentsRepresenting Council in Land & Environment Court mattersImplementing continuous improvement and customer service excellenceLiaising with key stakeholders, including planning panels, solicitors, and the communityDelivering complex and high-profile assessments and reports
You’ll Bring:
Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning, Building Surveying or a related fieldComprehensive knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979Proven experience leading planning assessment functions, ideally within local governmentHigh-level communication, negotiation, and mediation skillsStrong report writing and analytical capabilityA collaborative leadership style with a focus on service excellence and innovation
