The Position: The Customs Team Lead will be responsible for overseeing and leading a team of customs brokers to ensure the timely and accurate processing of imports and exports in compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team ManagementLead, motivate, and manage a team of customs brokers, ensuring high performance and efficient workflow.Provide training, mentorship, and development opportunities for team members to improve skills and knowledge in customs compliance. Customs ComplianceEnsure all import and export shipments comply with local and international customs regulations, laws, and procedures.Oversee the preparation and submission of accurate documentation, i.e., customs declarations, entry forms, invoices, etc.Resolve issues related to classification, valuation, and compliance that arise Client Interaction & SupportServe as escalation point of contact for clients regarding customs-related inquiries and issues.Provide advice to clients on customs regulations, import/export procedures, and trade compliance best practices. Risk Management & Process ImprovementContinuously assess and improve customs brokerage processes, systems, and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy,Conduct internal audits and reviews to ensure adherence to industry regulations and company policies. Who We are Looking For:Licensed Customs BrokerMinimum 5 years' experience in customs brokerage, with at least 2 years in a leadership roleProven experience in managing and leading a team in a fast-paced environmentStrong understanding of customs laws, regulations, and import/export processesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities Preferred candidates will be required to undertake reference checks as well as pre-employment screening, including a National Police Check. Where applicable, background checks including Employment History and Education History (including Qualifications) may be required.
