We are seeking an experienced Dairy Cattle Farm Operator to undertake responsibilities associated with the daily operations of the farm and management of the livestock.

Tasks & responsibilities
Working collaboratively with your team to achieve consistent compliance with guidelines and policy, responsibilities of this role will include:
- The operation of milking plant and equipment.
- The operation of standardised and specialist farm equipment (incl. tractors, attachments and other mobile plant).
- Calf rearing, cattle handling and husbandry, droving, yard work, collecting cows and calves, colostrum management and feeding.
- Animal health and herd management, including treatment and recording of lame cows, mastitis, vaccinations, drenching etc.
- Assisting with artificial insemination activities.
- General farm activities, including fencing, mustering, cleaning, feeding out and fertilising.
- Strong hygiene skills in calf rearing and dairy in general.
- Maintaining machinery and equipment, undertaking adjustments and reporting faults.
- Operating computerised systems to report and record information.
- Operating standard measuring equipment and recording instrument information.
Qualifications & experience
What we value most in our staff are qualities such as care for animals, honesty, reliability, and meticulous attention to detail. In addition to these qualities, to be successful in your application, you will have:
- An AQF Certificate II or III (or equivalent) OR a minimum of 1 year of recent and relevant work experience in lieu of the formal qualification.
- Experience in the various responsibilities listed above.

- A strong focus on safety and compliance.
- Physically fit to undertake the responsibilities listed above.
- Demonstrable experience adhering to regulations, policy and procedure.
- Intermediate communication skills – both verbal and written and an empathetic nature.
- Ability to work well within a team environment, interacting respectfully at all times.
- Current drivers' license.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts.
- Mobile plant operation tickets and/or experience preferred.
- Ability to take direction, whilst using your initiative and working autonomously where required also.
- A passion for working with animals.
