About the role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Data Migration Specialist to lead the development of data mappings, migration and synchronization, data integrity, and business continuity and rollback mechanisms and includes implementing best practices in data management across the ERP.
Reporting to the Integration Specialist you will be a part of the program team to plan, coordinate, and execute the data elements of an ERP system implementation which includes contributions to data strategy, technical requirements, planning, and execution against the plan.
You will collaborate with the Project Delivery Teams and Senior Project Manager to ensure that milestones are met on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess the volume and type of data to be migrated and understand the target system requirements. Analyse and map legacy data to target system based on business rules, ensuring its accuracy, consistency, and readiness for migration.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This includes working with the IT team to ensure that the data migration process is correctly understood and followed and with the business to ensure that the data is accurate.
• Develop and execute on data migration plans that meet both business and technical requirements to ensure alignment with the target system’s design and functionality.
• Analysis, preparing and migrating data according to the technical requirements, minimising disruptions during the transition to a target ERP system.
• Conducting complex data cleansing, analysis and reconciliation activities for various purposes and work with stakeholders to address data integrity issues.
• Follow an appropriate data governance model that includes managing the data lifecycle, access and sharing, security and privacy, quality management, classification and standards alignment, compliance and stewardship.
• Create clear and concise reports on data analysis findings, migration progress, and issues. Maintain thorough documentation of data migration processes, data mappings, and transformations.
• Collaborate with the broader program team, including the testing team, to define and execute comprehensive test strategies. Perform data validation and parallel testing to ensure data integrity between the legacy and target systems.

Required skills and qualifications:

• 5+ years’ experience in similar role in IT / ICT industry, particularly across technology, data, digital processes, and security.
  Strong experience in end-to-end data migration, including extraction, transformation, loading (ETL), validation, and reconciliation.
• Understanding of ERP platforms and their data structures, with experience in migrations across systems.
• Demonstrated experience leading or being a key contributor to large-scale integration projects, from design through to implementation, in a complex, multi-system environment
• Proficiency in data integrity, cleansing, validation, and governance frameworks to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Experience in synthesizing data from various sources to identify problems and develop strategies to solve them. Critically analyze data sets, identify trends, and make recommendations based upon your findings.
• Deep understanding of the systems or processes being implemented.
• Knowledge of data governance, security frameworks, and regulatory compliance in the local government sector.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality data solutions.
