Working at Transurban is different; it’s a place where you can see the benefits of your work play out in real life, every day. We create city-sized solutions—building and operating safer, smarter, and more sustainable roads—to solve pressing transport challenges that are slowing cities down.

About the role

We’re seeking a Delivery Lead to deliver integrated technology solutions that align with our strategy for both customer-facing channels and internally-facing platforms and tools.
You’ll join an innovative Customer Platform team, responsible for delivering business capabilities for Tolling services on Australian Toll Roads and providing exceptional customer services for Australian Tolling brands.
As our Delivery Lead, you’ll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities by driving transformative initiatives, leading a squad of talented professionals, and championing continuous improvement to enhance velocity and quality. It’s meaningful, challenging, and exciting work.

Day-to-day, you will:

  • Lead a squad to deliver outcomes across Customer, Billing, and Collections platforms using Agile methodologies (e.g., planning, reviews, retrospectives, and stand-ups).
  • Manage end-to-end delivery across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from requirements analysis to design, development, testing, implementation, and transition to BAU.
  • Identify, document, and assess risks, issues, and dependencies impacting project delivery, and escalate critical roadblocks to senior management.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders by managing expectations and ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the squad to enhance delivery velocity and quality.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to estimate costs for business cases, governance, and planning, ensuring projects are delivered within approved budgets.
  • Oversee processes to monitor the quality of deliverables in accordance with project methodologies and ensure they meet business standards.
  • Maintain and update the technology platform knowledge base for ongoing reference and facilitate solution handovers to Business-as-Usual (BAU) teams for operational continuity.

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:

  • Experience working in similar roles within Tolling, Utilities, or Financial Services sectors.
  • Proven experience in Delivery Management or Project Management, with demonstrated involvement in projects throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Demonstrated expertise in leading Customer and Technology projects across areas such as Customer, Billing, Payments, Data Migration, and Integration.
  • Exposure to a variety of project types and sizes, ranging from small and simple to large and complex initiatives.
  • Applied knowledge of Project Management tools such as MS Project, Visio, and financial tracking applications.
  • Experience leading or operating within complex project environments that require integration across multiple teams.
  • Proven ability to lead or work within virtual project teams across multiple geographic locations.

If you meet some of these requirements, but not all, we encourage you to submit your application.

With a career at Transurban, you’ll enjoy a range of benefits, including:

  • A range of flexible working and leave options, including the option to purchase an additional six weeks of leave each year
  • 16 weeks paid parental leave (regardless of gender or carer status), with no waiting period, with Superannuation paid during unpaid leave as well
  • Learning and development opportunities to support your career interests
  • Health and wellbeing support—access to Headspace and our EAP program, wellness facilities, and more
  • Share offers and insurance benefits
  • Social activities, community give-back programs and paid volunteer days

We offer a range of flexible working and leave options, so you can balance your work and life commitments and interests. Have a conversation with us about how this could work for you.

We embrace diversity with a foundation of safety, wellbeing and inclusion; where everyone belongs. We treat everyone with fairness, consideration and respect, regardless of gender, gender identity, marital or family status, sexual orientation, age, ethnicity, religious beliefs, cultural or socio-economic background, perspective, and experience – whether they work for us or not. We want to ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe to express ideas, questions and concerns.

We strongly encourage applications from candidates of diverse backgrounds and lived experiences, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people living with disability. If you require any adjustments or support during the recruitment process, please contact us on
