About the role

Diverse Fire Systems Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join our team.
As the Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing the design and development of fire protection systems for a variety of commercial and industrial projects. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work on challenging and innovative projects while contributing to the continued growth and success of our organisation. What you'll be doing

• Oversee the design process for fire protection systems, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, project managers, and clients to develop comprehensive design solutions

• Manage the preparation of detailed design documentation, drawings and specifications

• Provide technical guidance and support to the Managing Director, ensuring the timely completion of projects

• Review and approve design deliverables, ensuring they meet quality and performance standards

• Liaise with relevant authorities and stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals and permits

• Undertake site inspections to ensure installation compliance throughout a project lifecycle.

What we're looking for

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Architecture, Design or a related field

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a design management role within the construction industry, preferably in the fire protection systems sector

• Thorough understanding of fire protection system design, including relevant codes, standards and regulations

• Excellent project management and problem-solving skills

• Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities

• Proficient in the use of design software and computer-aided design (CAD) tools and Revit preferable

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and autonomously
