Public Sector People are proud to be partnering with Georges River Council to recruit a passionate and capable Development Assessment Planner. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the assessment of development applications and contribute to the delivery of great planning outcomes for the local community.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Coordinator Development Assessment, your responsibilities will include:
Assessing a range of development applications and preparing associated reportsConducting site inspections and ensuring compliance with planning legislation and Council policiesProviding clear, courteous advice to developers, community members, and other stakeholdersResponding to enquiries and correspondence in a timely and professional mannerSupporting the development of planning certificates and planning policy implementationContributing to Land and Environment Court matters as requiredParticipating in continuous improvement initiatives and staying up to date with planning reforms
You’ll Bring:
Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or a related disciplineSound understanding of building and planning practices, ideally in a local government settingStrong written and verbal communication skillsCurrent Class C NSW Driver’s LicenceAbility to present planning matters clearly and accuratelyCollaborative approach with the ability to work across departmentsConflict resolution and negotiation skillsA customer-focused attitude and a commitment to service excellence
