Disability Support Workers (Males) - Complex Behaviour | Casual and Part-time
About the role
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Male Disability Support Workers to join our team and provide high-quality care and support to a male participant with dementia. This rewarding role involves assisting with daily living activities, promoting independence, and ensuring the participant’s safety, comfort, and well-being. You will work with a team of professionals to ensure high-quality services and strive towards positive results for participants within an active setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide person-centred care and support tailored to the participant’s needs.
- Assist with personal care, mobility, and daily living tasks.
- Support the participant in engaging in meaningful activities and social interactions.
- Monitor and manage behaviours associated with dementia in a calm and empathetic manner.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment at all times.
- Collaborate with the participant’s family, healthcare professionals, and support team.
- Maintain accurate records and reports as required.

Experience & Qualifications
Experience in Dementia Support?
- Previous experience in dementia care is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of dementia and its impact on individuals and families.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain patient, empathetic, and adaptable in challenging situations.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts across a 24/7 roster
- Valid Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle (essential)
- Have the flexibility to work on a 24/7 rotating roster, which includes days, evenings, awake shifts, sleepovers and weekend shifts
- Have a current First Aid and CPR Certificate (HLTAID0011) or willingness to obtain before commencing
- Be willing to provide an NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC) Clearance
- Have the capacity to meet the physical requirements of the job, which may include manual handling tasks
- Have good computer, communication, and interpersonal skills
