About the Role

As a Duty Manager, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy rental location—managing staff across multiple functions including the front counter, vehicle preparation (wash bay), and fleet movement. You’ll lead by example, ensuring seamless customer service, smooth logistics, and a motivated team environment.

This is a hands-on leadership role, perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic setting and enjoys guiding a team while jumping in to support wherever needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support staff across the counter, wash bay, and vehicle transport areas

  • Coach and mentor front-line team members to deliver excellent customer service and hit sales targets

  • Ensure vehicle readiness, including cleanliness, presentation, and roadworthiness

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including staffing, rostering, and workflow coordination

  • Assist customers directly at the counter when needed—setting the tone for exceptional service

  • Drive a high-performance culture, resolving issues, and supporting other branches

  • Contribute to hitting targets, and promoting and selling Avis/Budget products

  • Cleaning and driving of vehicles is required

  • Keeping records of customer interactions, processing customer accounts, filing documents regarding rental agreements.

What We’re Looking For

  • Applicants must hold a current driver’s license.

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role is preferred (ideally in retail, hospitality, logistics, or rentals)

  • Strong people management and communication skills

  • A flexible, can-do attitude and ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Knowledge of customer service, sales techniques, and Workplace Health & Safety

  • Availability to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays

  • Excellent phone etiquette and excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to multi-task, monitor and organise business demands on daily basis.

  • Flexible approach to multiple assigned work

  • Work a rotating roster that includes alternate weekends and Public Holidays.
