Who are Hessian's Cool Vans?

We are a crew of ex-hospo legends who pivoted into the food delivery business during Covid when our hospitality world collapsed. We're working with some awesome boutique & socially conscious clients delivering 7 days a week to all walks of life including to NDIS supported customers. Our aim is to be ethically and socially sound while maintaining a business that still holds true to our hospo roots, treats everyone fairly, and provides a satisfying work environment. 

About the Role

We are seeking someone enthusiastic and reliable to work as a sole trader for our business based across Fitzroy & Balaclava. The position is available for an Early Morning Transport Worker/Driver 20 - 30 hours per week (4-5 days) $31ph plus super. This includes early mornings and later evenings with hours ranging from from 4:00am - 9:00pm and does include weekend work. This roles is semi flexible and offers room to grow within the company and opportunities for extra hours & overtime.
      You’ll need to be someone who enjoys a challenge and is self driven, someone who seeks the satisfaction of completing a role on your own, and who is capable of adapting and pivoting to handle quick changes in routine. You will be reporting to the Fleet Manager Hesh, though this position will be a mostly self sufficient role. If you’re not physically & mentally robust this may not be the role for you. The job will range from covering early morning operations with our bakery client to blended direct to consumer deliveries right across Melbourne through the day.

Key Duties

• Efficient inventory management; loading, unloading & picking up consignments.

• Practice safe driving and loading activities.

• Checking the vehicle is in good, safe working order.

• Complete paperwork accurately.

• Preserve a safe and clean work environment by keeping the van neat and tidy.

• Complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

• Able to drive manual

• Presents in a neat and tidy manner

• Communicates well and can have a chat with the team as needed.

• Ability to self manage and follow directives.

• Physically fit and able to lift up to 20kg   

• Efficient in processes 

• Intuitive understanding of vehicles and briefs

• Smooth handling of daily jobs / challenges

• Preferably from a hospo background (not a requirement)

• Preferably from a delivery background (not a requirement)
