Electrical and Instrumentation Tradesperson(s), Condong and Broadwater Plants

Cape Byron Management Pty Ltd is one of Australia's largest privately owned renewable energy companies and operates two biomass-fired boiler and steam turbine generator power plants:  Broadwater 38MW and Condong 30MW located near Byron Bay on the north coast of NSW.

We are looking for two experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Tradesperson to join our Condong and Broadwater teams to support the daily maintenance activities at the power plants. 

Your role in power plant maintenance is needed to ensure the electrical and control systems operate safely and reliably to deliver upon the business objectives. 
 

Duties and Responsibilities will include: 

• Ensure that all HSE requirements relating to Electrical / Instrumentation including HSE legislation, Regulations, Australian Standards and Codes of Practice are complied with.
• Ensure that safe work procedures are followed and reviewed to eliminate and/or control the WHS risk in the workplace.
• Responsible for own safety and the safety of all employees under their direction.
• Ensure routine inspections and PM tasks are completed, data recorded, and any issues found are corrected and reported as required.
• Advise the supervisor/engineer on all matters/issues pertaining to electrical and instrumentation.
• Ensuring all electrical works are completed in a safe manner and in compliance with established safe work procedures and systems.
• Assisting with the Supervision of contract personnel to ensure completed work is carried out safely, efficiently and effectively.
• Ensure quality history on all PM's is provided in the CMMS
• Actively participate in continuous improvement and RCA programs to ensure that the Electrical and Process Control opportunities are clearly identified and implemented.
• Make use of the best spares strategies and minimum reorder levels.
• Assist in making use of resources optimally.

Skills and Experience:

• Certificate 3 in Electrical (Essential).
• Certificate 3 or 4 qualifications Instrumentation and Control (Highly Desirable).
• Current NSW Electrical Supervisor Licence or NSW Contractor Licence.
• Willingness if only Electrical trade qualified to undergo instrumentation training.

Demonstrate the following in an industrial site environment:

• Plant electrical, instrument and control background in heavy industry.
• Experience with electrical and control system fault finding and maintenance.
• Experience with high voltage switching and isolations, or willingness to undergo training to carry out high voltage switching.
• Demonstrate understanding and capacity to adhere to and oversee the adherence of a team to the site's Workplace Health, Safety & Environment requirements.
