About Us

Allied Consulting Engineers Pty Ltd is a growing engineering consultancy specialising in renewable energy infrastructure, including photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage power stations. We pride ourselves on delivering high-performance, technically sound, and sustainable energy solutions across Australia.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role offers hands-on involvement in the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of large-scale solar and energy storage systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Electrical System Integration: Provide expert technical guidance during the installation and integration of electrical systems for photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage power stations, ensuring alignment with approved design plans, safety regulations, and industry standards.

- Equipment Installation and Commissioning: Lead and oversee the end-to-end installation, wiring, testing, and commissioning of critical electrical components, including inverters, protection relays, transformers, combiner boxes, and both high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) distribution systems.

- Standards Compliance & Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous inspections and verifications to ensure systems are fully compliant with AS/NZS, IEC, and IEEE standards. Identify and resolve any compliance issues promptly.

- Testing and Performance Validation: Perform a range of system tests (e.g., ground resistance, insulation resistance, voltage and current measurements) to confirm operational integrity. Document results and recommend corrective actions where necessary.

- Troubleshooting and Maintenance Support: Diagnose faults and performance issues in installed systems and develop preventive maintenance plans to ensure reliability, efficiency, and long-term operational safety of power stations.

- Design & Engineering Input: Actively contribute to the electrical design and planning phase of PV and energy storage projects. This includes supporting system architecture, single-line diagrams, circuit design, load analysis, and the selection of appropriate equipment and protection systems.

- Project Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, including test reports, commissioning records, technical drawings, and operation manuals.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, civil engineers, suppliers, and contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to a high technical standard.

- Site Safety Leadership: Ensure that all site activities are conducted in accordance with workplace health and safety (WHS) guidelines and promote a strong culture of electrical safety and risk awareness.
