Electrical Engineer - Oil & Gas Project (FIFO)

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team for an Oil and Gas project based in Darwin. This is a Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) position (flying from Perth), working on a 2:2 roster for a 6-month contract, with the possibility of an extension based on project needs.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the electrical design, construction, and commissioning phases of the project, ensuring all technical, safety, and regulatory requirements are met.

The Successful Candidate Should Have:

• Demonstrated expertise in EEHA (Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas) with up-to-date certification.

• Strong background in construction and/or commissioning experience, particularly in energy, mining, and minerals processing applications.

• Proven ability to lead, manage, and communicate effectively with contractors and site personnel.

• Solid experience in leading projects and managing client expectations.

• Previous experience working directly with clients will be highly advantageous.

• Strong technical report-writing skills and the ability to document and communicate complex technical information.

• Ability to work both unsupervised and as part of a collaborative team.

• Demonstrated experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) and understanding of the risk assessments required in hazardous environments.

• Solid HSE experience, with a proven track record of fostering a zero-harm culture on-site, ensuring compliance with safety systems and regulations.

• Site leadership experience, including mentoring junior engineers, managing site teams, and overseeing the overall success of the project.

• Ability to drive and manage safety and compliance across multiple project teams.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

• Electrical Engineering degree recognized by Engineers Australia.

• Ideally, CPEng (Chartered Professional Engineer) qualified in Australia.

• EEHA Certification and experience with hazardous area classification and design.

• SIF (Safety Instrumented Functions) Certification.

• Proven electrical engineering experience in energy, mining, or processing industries.

• Strong understanding and application of HSE protocols and Process Safety principles.

• Experience in leading safety initiatives and ensuring strict compliance with site safety standards.
