Jacobs Power Generation Team offer a full range of services for utility scale power generation projects, both thermal and renewables. Our scope of services is a mix of engineering consultancy including concept design, feasibility and pre-feasibility, design review, site investigations, techno-economic advisory services, and technical due diligence, construction management and owner’s engineering services.

Are you an Electrical Engineer looking to make your mark in the renewable energy sector? Jacobs Power Generation Team in Sydney is seeking a passionate and talented professional to contribute to innovative renewable energy projects across the APAC region, with a strong focus on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). While prior experience with BESS is advantageous, it is not a requirement. We value your expertise and dedication above all else.

About the Role:

  • Provide consultancy services for renewable energy generation projects, with a particular emphasis on BESS.
  • Prepare and review feasibility studies, conceptual designs, technical specifications, and tender documentation.
  • Conduct construction-phase site inspections and report on quality and progress.
  • Perform performance reviews of operational sites.
  • Collaborate with regional teams to enhance technical capabilities in solar, wind, and BESS projects.
  • Act as Owner’s Engineer and Lender’s Technical Advisor on select projects.
  • Undertake tender evaluation process and provide technical recommendation .
  • Champion safety and actively engage with Jacobs' safety culture.

Your Contributions:

  • Support project teams in the successful delivery of renewable energy initiatives.
  • Contribute to bids, proposals, and client engagement activities.
  • Provide technical expertise to deliver exceptional engineering designs and consultancy services.
  • Collaborate across geographies to maximise the benefits of global delivery for clients and teams.

Here's what you'll need

  • A tertiary qualification in electrical engineering
  • A proven track record in renewable energy development processes, technical design, and due diligence.
  • A proactive approach to managing HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) requirements.
  • An in-depth knowledge of the power industry, with expertise in electrical engineering and a broad understanding of other disciplines.
