Embedded Expertise is currently recruiting for live and active work in the transport sector in QLD. Our client is in growth phase and accelerating their projects and as a result are actively recruiting for ITS Engineers in the control systems field for an initial 6-month contract, with the potential to extend. They are searching for an Electrical Engineer who can help with the organisation and coordination of testing across the project. Someone with a SCADA experience or ITS would be preferable. The work is based in Brisbane (mix of the Brisbane CBD and field visits).
As an Electrical Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining and upgrading applications, client operation systems, desktop equipment, operational technology (OT), server equipment, specialized systems, and networked systems.
- Ensuring the ITS systems perform within their availability and reliability targets.
- Test Traffic Control and Plant Management
- Safeguarding the data and operational integrity of all systems.
- Monitoring and maintaining specialized equipment, including SCADA, PABXs and Radio Rebroadcast Systems, data network equipment, CCTV equipment, Traffic Flow Systems, and PLCs.
To excel in this role, you should possess the following transferrable skills and experiences:
- Prior experience in a similar role maintaining critical systems in electrical, electronic, or IT system support.
- Previous work as a Technician would be advantageous, as well as experience in an operational support environment.
- A natural problem solver with excellent interpersonal skills, enabling effective communication with various stakeholders.
- An analytical and incisive mindset, able to spot and address issues collaboratively and innovatively.
- Excellent organizational skills, allowing you to manage conflicting priorities effectively.
- A valid driving license, reflecting your passion for everything related to our roads.
- Degree qualified Project management/engineering/equivalent discipline
- Minimum 2 years of engineering experience
