About the Role

We are seeking a ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN to join our team in Mitchell, ACT. This role involves Performs testing of electrical systems, compiles data into charts and tables, and supports Electrical Engineers and Engineering Technologists in cost estimation activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare technical drawings, plans, and circuit diagrams for electrical systems and installations

• Support Electrical Engineers and Technologists in designing and planning electrical systems for substations, switchgear, cable networks, and motor controls

• Gather data, conduct testing and detailed calculations, and present findings through charts and tables

• Estimate required materials, including quantities and associated costs

• Inspect designs and completed installations to ensure they meet specifications and regulatory standards

• Assemble, install, test, calibrate, modify, and repair electrical systems to comply with safety and regulatory requirements

• Perform workshop tasks such as setting up assemblies for protection relays, metering units, and display devices

• Assist with research activities and experimental setups

• Conduct testing of electrical systems, prepare relevant data presentations, and support cost estimation efforts alongside engineering professionals

Skills & Experience

● A bachelor's qualification in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.

● 1-2 years of experience as a Electrical Engineering Technician.

● With excellent communication, time management, and multitasking abilities, you work well both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

● Adaptability and Learning

● Proficiency in project management software and MS Office.
