Tasks & responsibilities
- Drive functional safety and control system design, delivering innovative engineering solutions for our clients.
- Significant experience in EIC engineering design, procurement, supervision of panel assembly work, inspection & testing
- Practical experience with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems from a variety of OEMs Develop and implement functional descriptions into PLC code, ensuring seamless integration.
- Engineer and design electrical control panels, network architectures, and related deliverables.
- Select and size instruments, prepare datasheets, RFQs, and BOMs to meet project specifications.
- Oversee and review subcontractor designs to ensure compliance with client and functional requirements.
- Manage project lifecycles, including design, testing, and commissioning of equipment such as burners and valve trains.
- Provide technical leadership in Burner Management Systems and drive innovation by introducing new control system technologies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
- Functional safety certification and previous experience of delivering control systems in compliance with functional safety.
- Proven ability to Engineer & Design wiring schematics, panel GA and cable block diagrams, Cable schedule, Loop Drawings, Termination Drawings for equipment relating to burner management systems (BMS)
Qualifications & experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Controls & Instrumentation Engineering.
- Extensive experience in E&I engineering design, procurement, and supervision.
- Functional Safety certification (TUV/Exida or equivalent) is highly regarded.
- Strong expertise with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and control system programming.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical (desirable).
- Membership in the Institute of Engineers Australia (desirable).
- Proven problem-solving skills, a can-do attitude, and the ability to work independently.
- Able to demonstrate flexibility and willingness to travel (some international) as/when required
