Email Marketing Specialist – Fully Remote

Company Profile:

Join the team at Talking Point Cards, a rapidly growing and innovative multinational eCommerce company based in Australia with a mission to help people connect and improve relationships in ‘real life’ - without screens.

Our products achieve that for people of all demographics by opening great conversations, creating opportunities for genuine connection through shared activities, and helping people create long-lasting memories together.

After several years of strong growth, we’re now building out our core internal team to support our next phase of expansion. If you’re a detail-oriented email marketer who loves data, optimization, and meaningful marketing - this role might be for you.

Our Team:

We are a small but tight core team, supplemented by contractors and specialized agencies contributing to various business areas.

We deeply value the balance between professional dedication and family life, offering flexibility to excel in your role while meeting your family's needs, ensuring a great blend of professional satisfaction while still having time to enjoy your life and family.

The Role:

We’re looking for a sharp, proactive Email Marketing Specialist who thrives on turning insights into action to own the email channel and make it one of the most powerful drivers of revenue and retention in the business.

This isn’t just about sending newsletters. You’ll manage every detail of our email and SMS infrastructure in Klaviyo - campaign scheduling, flow optimization, list segmentation, testing, deliverability, and performance analysis. You’ll be the go-to person for executing a world-class email program that speaks to the right people, at the right time, with the right message.

You’ll work closely with the marketing manager and broader team to ensure every campaign aligns with our brand and strategy. If you’re someone who loves clean systems, smart automation, deep segmentation, and meaningful metrics - you’ll be in your element here.

This role is highly technical, analytical, and execution-focused. You’ll be given autonomy, support, and trust to make things happen - and the opportunity to grow your skillset as our brand scales.

Note: This role is focused purely on email and retention. You will not manage paid media (e.g. Facebook ads), but will collaborate with our paid team to ensure messaging and promotions are aligned.

Key Responsibilities:

1.    Campaign & Content Coordination

  • Manage all campaigns and flows in Klaviyo, aligned to our marketing calendar.

  • Proactively plan content to ensure timely delivery of product launches, sales, and seasonal events.

  • Manage and refine avatar-specific content groups to ensure highly targeted messaging and avoiding over-delivery.

2.    Flow & Automation Management

  • Maintain and relentlessly improve existing email automation flows

  • Strategically implement A/B tests across flows and campaigns with clear hypotheses and measurable goals

  • Build a structured testing roadmap and regularly review results to apply learnings across the account

3.    Performance Tracking & Optimization

  • Monitor all core performance metrics (open rate, click rate, revenue, etc.), report on trends and create plans to improve progressively

  • Monitor deliverability and implement best practices to improve inbox placement.

  • Manage list hygiene with regular cleanups and suppression logic

4.    Execution & Troubleshooting

  • Troubleshoot deliverability, formatting, or segmentation issues when they arise

  • Ensure emails are visually well designed in line with best practice

  • Coordinate with the rest of the team to ensure emails are accurate, timely, and impactful

5.    Copywriting & Email Design

  • Write clear, engaging copy for campaigns and flows when our main copywriter is unavailable.

  • Confidently edit and finalize subject lines, headers, and short-form body copy.

  • Design email layouts using Klaviyo’s drag-and-drop builder, including basic graphic creation where needed (e.g. Canva or Figma is fine).

  • Ensure a consistent and high standard of visual quality, alignment with our branding, and responsiveness across devices.

6.    Marketing Integration

  • Align all email efforts with the broader brand and marketing strategy.

  • Think like a marketer—understand funnels, avatars, and the full customer journey.

  • Support cross-functional collaboration to create seamless campaigns.

  • Have a clear focus on customer retention and engagement for long term monetisation

7.    Continual Learning

  • Stay updated on email marketing best practices, Klaviyo platform updates, and industry trends

  • Utilise external learning communities we are part of to continuously improve.

Experience, Skills & Attributes

We’re looking for someone with strong technical skills, sharp analytical thinking, and the curiosity to keep learning. You’ll be mentored and supported as you deepen your understanding of our strategy and product range.

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in eCommerce email marketing (preferably using Klaviyo)

  • Very strong analytical skills with a proven ability to turn data into actionable insights

  • Confident setting up tags, segments, flows, campaigns, and A/B tests in Klaviyo

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage overlapping campaigns without missing a beat

  • A strong understanding of email marketing performance metrics and best practices

  • Naturally curious with a testing and learning mindset and a drive to optimize every send

  • Experience creating, reviewing, or editing email copy and subject lines

  • A marketing mindset - you understand avatars, funnels, and how email fits into the customer journey

  • Clear communicator who can explain ideas and collaborate across teams

  • Experience working with Shopify, Google Sheets, and Slack is highly desirable

Work Style and Benefits:

  • This position is fully remote. You can work from anywhere with flexible, full time hours.

  • The position will be closely mentored and supported by the marketing manager, particularly throughout the learning curve of developing a deep understanding of our strategy and approach.

  • Regular communication via Slack and virtual meetings across different time zones. We aim to have mutual flexibility among our international team for meetings schedules that work for everyone.

  • Be part of a friendly team with great work-life balance: Flexible work arrangements for family commitments.

  • Competitive Salary + 4 weeks paid annual leave + 2 weeks personal leave.

  • While bonuses and additional incentives are not guaranteed, we believe that when the company does well our staff deserve to be rewarded too.

  • Reliable internet connection and your own laptop are essential.

  • We will provide you access to courses, groups, or additional information as benefit your role.

  • Got a cause near and dear to your heart? Our employees rotate choosing a charity to receive a donation from us each month.

  • Salary is based on experience and expertise. Let us know your expectations when applying.

How to Apply:

Send your brief and direct cover letter as well as a full resume highlighting your experience in eCommerce email marketing specifically with regards to the areas above, demonstrating how you embody results-based data analysis and email marketing processes. Please include in your cover letter information about your training in email marketing: how you learned what you know and who influenced your style.

Join Talking Point Cards and play a vital role in our journey to redefine eCommerce success. We are excited to welcome a proactive Email Marketing Specialist to our team. Apply today!
