The Opportunities

MIGAS is seeking expressions of interest for an electrical apprenticeship that will allow you to complete a highly sought-after Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician and become a qualified Electrician.

You will gain valuable hands-on experience, working with skilled tradespeople to help you grow and gain valuable knowledge and experience within the industry.

Job Details

MIGAS has potential electrical apprenticeships starting in June with a range of high-profile host employers on large scale infrastructure projects.

These will be in commercial, industrial and fire electrical areas not residential work

You will be mentored by industry professionals while completing a blend of on-the-job training and theory coursework.

Your duties may include, but not be limited to:

  • Installation of automatic fire detection systems
  • Installation of all aspects of Low Voltage (LV) cabling and cable support
  • Maintenance of LV equipment in both mobile and workshop settings

About You

You must have excellent communication skills and be ready and willing to undertake physical work in indoor and outdoor settings. You will be willing to travel and not afraid of working at heights.

In addition to these qualities, you will:

  • Completed grade 12, with a high performance in mathematics
  • Must have a White Card or willing to obtain upon commencement
  • A manual driver’s licence would be an advantage
  • Have a strong aptitude for detailed, technical tasks
  • Be reliable, self-motivated and willing to learn
  • Be committed to attending TAFE and passing all practical and theory-based training requirements of an apprenticeship
  • Have the ability to pass a Medical, Drug and Alcohol Screen, and Police Check
  • Have excellent listening skills and able to follow instructions
  • Work safely
