Fabric Cutter/Industrial Sewing Machinist/Textiles Worker

Stan Bond is a manufacturer, wholesaler, and retailer of blinds, awnings, security screens, curtains & other related home improvement products. The company is a family-owned South Australian business that has been operating for over 50 years. 

The company is growing rapidly and working hard to be a leader in manufacturing, customer service, and professionalism in the screen & shade industry. It employs around 80 staff and contractors at its head office in our new factory at Salisbury South. 

We are currently seeking Textiles workers for our factory. This position will start as a casual with full-time hours, leading to permanency based on individual performance. We are seeking candidates who are available to work Monday to Friday, and willing to do overtime and weekend work when needed.

We seek a highly motivated individual with a manufacturing background to join our team. Specific training can be provided to the right candidate. Stan Bond is a manufacturer, wholesaler, and retailer of blinds, awnings, security screens, curtains & other related home improvement products. 

Duties & Responsibilities will include, after training:

• Cutting of fabrics

• Manual handling of fabric rolls

• Use of overlockers

• Use of straight stitch machines & blind hemming machines

• Quality control & operation of the fabric hoist

• Ironing of fabrics & packaging of products

• Daily cleaning of the work area with the team

• Work well in a team and meet set deadlines

• Regularly contributes to process improvements and is happy to share knowledge and ideas

• Interpret & follow work instructions

To be considered for these roles, you must meet the following criteria:

• Ability to follow work instructions

• Experienced industrial sewing machinists are preferred, but not essential

• Knowledge of all aspects of curtain manufacturing will be an advantage

• Ability to work with set targets & deadlines

• Work well in teams, flexible & with good work ethics

• High attention to detail

• Have current checkable references

• Be physically fit, as a pre-employment physical assessment may be required

• Keen to learn new skills & recommend process improvements
