About the Role

We’re excited to announce opportunities for passionate individuals to join our team as Gambling Help Line - Family Relationship Advisors within our dynamic Virtual Services team. The purpose of this position is to provide high quality gambling counselling to individuals, their families, and significant others. • Permanent part time position
• Evenings, overnight and weekends shifts available
• Hourly rate between $43.29 to $46.58
• Located from our Eight Mile Plains venue

Additionally, you will:

• Provide clients with a responsive service that displays an understanding of the problems they are encountering
• Apply theoretical models of addiction and gambling, stages of change, and other relevant frameworks in the counselling process.
• Conduct client assessment of client needs to provide relevant information and make appropriate referrals to support clients to link and gain support from our Gambling Help Services Sector.
• Ensure thorough client risk assessment and mitigation, including identification and assessment of domestic and family violence, child safety, threat of harm to self or others, and other risk factors; and take appropriate steps as required by organisational policy and procedure.
• Understand and meet legislative and funding requirements including collecting and recording statistical data in a timely and accurate manner.

Work days/hours will be negotiated with the successful applicant, however please note that the position holder will be required to work shifts that include evenings, overnight and weekends after successful completion of appropriate training.

You embrace diversity and inclusion, demonstrating cultural sensitivity in all interactions and committing to addressing social inequities.

Additionally, you have:

• An undergraduate qualification in Social or Behavioural Sciences (or working towards)
• Experience in customer service with ability in identifying client needs, assessing for risks and developing strategies to meet those needs
• Knowledge and ability to apply a systems theory framework and relevant theoretical models to identify client needs and provide appropriate intervention.
• Theoretical knowledge of the assessment and evidence-based interventions for domestic and family violence, child abuse, neglect and suicide.
