Our Site Services staff conduct site investigations to collect, document and provide details of site conditions. We also give construction and other related advice to builders, developers, project managers, earthmoving and civil contractors, owner builders and home owners.

The Opportunity

The primary role of a Field Inspector is to conduct structural engineering inspections, assess the engineering implications of observations, provide timely solutions to clients, and report on the findings. The Field Inspector may also liaise with clients to understand their requirements and to produce solutions accordingly, with a focus on producing accurate, efficient, practical and innovative designs for the residential market.

This position reports to the Production Manager. It is expected that the occupant of this position work collaboratively with other Section personnel to complete assigned tasks that may range across the entire Geotechnical and I&I Divisions.

The occupant of this position is expected to have sufficient experience to enable them to carry out their assigned duties under general direction, and at times, limited supervision.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with experience doing residential drilling in Queensland. This position is part of our Site Services team, who are generally on the road all day visiting building sites.

In this Role your duties will include

  • Conduct footing, slab, steel and retaining wall compliance inspections as scheduled by administration.

  • Liaise with colleagues, clients and other departments as requested:

  • Provide technical advise as required

  • Work under the guidance of senior staff

  • Interpret drawings to ensure site conditions comply with engineering specifications

  • Liaise with clients in-person, via phone and email

  • Make observations and assess the implications of observations in conjunction with required technical staff.

  • Coordinate and conduct site visits including the scheduling of access to the site and relevant equipment.

  • Adherence to and compliance of all Company internal OHS and Quality Assurance policies and procedures including all external contractual agreements.

  • Maintain all equipment in strict accordance with Company policies

  • Other duties as directed

In order to be successful in this role you will ideally have:

  • Self-motivated and have the ability to complete work with little oversight

  • Knowledge of Australian Building Codes, Standards, and construction practices. Specifically for residential construction

  • Excellent report writing skills with attention to detail and clarity.

  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients, insurers, and legal professionals.

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for site inspections.
