Role Detail

Part of the wider highly respected Finance team, you will join the Matter Accounting team that comprises an experienced group dedicated to client service, regulatory compliance and working capital management. To build on these strengths, and our culture of continuous improvement, we are enhancing our capabilities by incorporating effective stakeholder management and adopting a data-driven and analytical approach to all aspects of financial hygiene. This is where you come in.

An initiative designed to elevate collaboration between the finance department and various practice groups, with the aim of optimising our working capital, you will act as a vital link between the finance department and the firm's practice groups.

How

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance Operations & Support, you will provide strategic financial insights and support that drive business performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Building strong relationships with both financial and non-financial stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and collaboration
  • Financial Insights: Analysing financial data to provide actionable insights that inform decision-making and enhance working capital practices
  • Revenue Control Development: Leading the development and implementation of the revenue control function, working closely with the Matter Accounting and Accounts Receivable teams
  • Working Capital Management: Focusing on the effective and efficient management of working capital related to client matters, ultimately improving cash flow and reducing lock-up

Working closely with the Matter Accounting and Accounts Receivable team and leading a team of your own, this role will develop and imbed the revenue control function to help drive the effective and efficient management of working capital on matters.

About You

As with all finance roles, you need to be passionate about what you do and align with 3 of our firm's key principles - betterment, clarity and trust.

This role requires a strong understanding of financial principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.

With an excellence without arrogance ethos, you will also bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Economics or a Business-related degree
  • Knowledge and experience with financial practice management systems (ideally Elite 3E) and working capital processes gained within a professional services environment
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Impactful leadership style that can effectively work with teams across different locations
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to identify and escalate issues in a timely manner
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement.
