About the Opportunity

Fantastic opportunity to join Metcash as a Financial Accountant based in Macquarie Park. The Financial Accountant will report to the Wholesale Finance Manager and will assist with the end to end accounting and reporting responsibilities for the Campbells and Convenience Business. The role will mainly focus on month end tasks including month end close, reconciliations, compliance and reporting.

In this Role

  • End to end accounting reporting for Campbells & Convenience pillar
  • Key accounting tasks for the Campbells & Convenience branches (provisions, accruals, freight, rebates, margin, service fees)
  • Monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts
  • Weekly reporting of sales, margin, aged stock, shrinkage and other P&L items.
  • Work closely with Finance Manager on half year and full year asset impairment review and debtors review of Campbells sheds
  • Assist the Wholesale Accounting Manager with external auditors during half-year review and full-year audit.
  • Improvement to existing processes including the streamlining of reporting in line with pillar requirements.
  • Coordination and monitoring of off-shore resources
  • Assist with budget and forecast

You're Likely a Match If

  • At least 5 years financial experience
  • CA/CPA qualified
  • Prior experience in a retail or FMCG environment
  • Financial modelling skills
  • Strong technical knowledge of AASB accounting standards
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven working knowledge of MS D365, Power Bi and TM1
