Financial Accountant - Immediate Start

A Financial Accounting position within FMCG, based in Melbourne's inner North. Commencing immediately, the ideal candidate will have experience in a similar environment, maintaining financial records, reporting, budgeting, assisting with audit and will have an in-depth knowledge of a product based businesses, ideally within FMCG, retail or manufacturing.

Our client is a leading FMCG business in Melbourne's North, known for its innovative approach, collaborative environment and outstanding culture. Due to growth and upcoming year-end/audit requirements, the company is seeking additional support. This newly created 6-month contract role offers potential for extension or permanency for the right candidate.

Description

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for:

• Preparing financial statements
• Month-end activities, including balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
• Ad hoc analysis and project accounting duties
• Process improvement initiatives
• Inventory Accounting activities and stocktake
• Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and management reports
• Managing tax obligations (BAS returns)
• Partnering with operations and supply chain

Profile

The successful candidate will be/have:

• Relevant educational background in Accounting or Finance
• CA/CPA qualified
• 1-2 years or more experience in a similar role
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities
• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail
• Experience with a large ERP
