About the role - Customs Compiler As a Customs Compiler, your main responsibilities will include:
- Accurately classify products to determine the correct tariff (HTS) codes, ensuring compliance with all relevant customs regulations.
- Prepare, review, and submit comprehensive customs documents, declarations, and applications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Act as the primary contact for customers regarding customs inquiries, providing timely and accurate information to facilitate smooth customs clearance processes.
- Communicate effectively with government bodies to resolve issues and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Provide technical advice and guidance on customs-related matters to internal departments and customers, helping to navigate complex regulatory environments.
- Stay updated on changes in customs regulations and ensure that all practices and procedures comply with current laws.
- Identify and resolve any customs clearance issues, working proactively to prevent delays and ensure efficient operations.
- Maintain accurate records of all customs-related transactions and documentation, ensuring easy retrieval and audit readiness.
- Provide general administrative support to the customs team, including filing, data entry, and coordination of shipments.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance your skills and knowledge in customs procedures and regulations.
About the candidate
- At least 1 year of experience with an International Freight Forwarder.
- A solid understanding of import operations and customs procedures.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience using CargoWise (CW1) is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Adequate knowledge of Customs Tariff
