Nourished Wholefood Café in Avalon Beach NSW is seeking a full time Chef with the right attitude and passion for working with food with at least 12 months of relevant experience and a minimum of a Diploma qualification or equivalent in substantial experience. Students completing their relevant Diploma will also be considered as long as you have working experience in the kitchen (12 months). Salary of $ $73,500 + super for this full-time position. 

As the Chef, you will undergo the following responsibilities and tasks.

Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the planning and directing of food preparation, cooking, and presentation in the kitchen. 
  • Stocking and maintaining adequate levels of food product at line stations. 
  • Work with Cooks for efficient provisioning and purchasing of supplies. 
  • Work with Cooks to plan menus that are flavorful and popular with customers
  • Seasoning and cooking food according to the Business' recipes and/or personal judgment and experience. 
  • Monitor and ensure food quality, quantity, taste, and presentation are in accordance to the menu and customer preference at all times. · 
  • Ensuring food meets an exceptional standard for both quality and quantity.
  • Assist with the recruitment, training, mentoring and supervision of kitchen staff. Demonstrate cooking methods and practices.
  • Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of the kitchen. 
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Diploma qualification or equivalent in substantial experience.
  • Students completing their relevant Diploma will also be considered as long as you have working experience in the kitchen (12 months).

Experience Requirement:

  • At least 12 months of experience in highly relevant role required.
  • Experience in modern Australian cuisine.
