Future Student Engagement Lead – Ongoing, Full Time (5 days per week)

We are looking for an enthusiastic Future Student Engagement Lead to join our Partnerships & Development team.
The Future Student Engagement Lead is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive student recruitment and conversion strategies to attract a diverse and talented cohort for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. This role oversees the student recruitment process with a particular focus on ensuring equity and accessibility and implements initiatives designed to improve the customer experience and maintain AFTRS’ reputation as a world-leading screen and audio school.
About the role:
Key Accountabilities
- Recruitment Strategy: Work closely with the Head of Student Recruitment & Admissions to devise and implement medium and long-term recruitment strategies to drive leads and enrolments in AFTRS courses.

Recruitment Planning: Collaboratively develop and drive the implementation of a year-long student recruitment tactical plan that is designed to increase awareness, lead capture, lead nurture and conversion with a focus on increasing access for those from marginalised and under-represented groups.

Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the Future Student Engagement Officer, ensuring clear objectives are set and achieved, in alignment with recruitment strategies and best practices.

Marketing: Work collaboratively with the Marketing team to drive leads with a focus on diversity and quality of applications.

Application Process: Work closely with the Student Admissions Lead, Program Convenors and Discipline Leads to identify and suggest improvements in the application tasks and process creating a more accessible, equitable and efficient admissions process.

Admissions Process: Work closely to support the delivery of a customer centric admissions process and increase conversion rates from applications started through to enrolment.

Analysis: Gather, analyse and interpret recruitment and admissions data, identify trends, measure the effectiveness of recruitment strategies, and provide insights that inform decision-making and continuous improvement.

Increasing participation: Work collaboratively to develop and implement strategies to reach and increase participation from students from groups that face marginalisation and are under-represented in higher education, at AFTRS and in the screen and audio industries.

CRM Improvement and utilisation: Champion the utilisation of CRM features and work collaboratively to identify improvements that enhance customer experience and increase conversion.

Customer Service: In collaboration with Student Centre and faculty, provide a high-level of customer service to all prospective students.

Administration: Manage the recruitment calendar and budget, as set by the Head of Student Recruitment & Admissions, ensuring all activities are delivered to the highest standard and within budget.

AFTRS Representation & Engagement: Represent AFTRS courses across Australia maintaining AFTRS’ reputation as a world-leading screen and audio school. Coordinate and deliver tours, workshops and events on the AFTRS campus that showcase facilities and develop connection to the school.

International Initiatives: Work closely with the Head of Student Recruitment & Admissions to identify and support international initiatives and student recruitment.

Other Duties: There may be a requirement to undertake tasks outside the scope of the responsibilities listed to support the organisation. AFTRS will engage in a conversation should these tasks arise.
About you – You have:
- Student Recruitment Experience: Proven success in a similar role leading student recruitment activity, preferably with a higher education provider.

CRM and Lead Management Experience: A sound working knowledge of CRM, preferably Salesforce to record, engage and convert leads.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Proven ability to work with different internal and external stakeholder groups including faculty, marketing, technology, industry and careers advisors.

Inclusion: Demonstrated experience in engaging with and building relationships with students from diverse backgrounds, with a strong commitment to equity and inclusion.

Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills including one-to-one and presenting to large audiences.

Decision-Making and Problem-Solving Skills: Proven ability to work proactively, independently and with sound judgement to achieve strategic outcomes and maintain quality and compliance.

Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and support team members, fostering a supportive, collaborative and high-performing culture.

Salary: AFTRS Level 6 ($85,438) + up to 15.4% super, and excellent benefits.
