Role Overview:
Ferrier Engineering Pty Ltd is seeking a motivated Graduate Engineer (Mechanical/Structural) with 2–3 years of industry experience. The ideal candidate will have exposure to the water and wastewater sector, combined with a broad knowledge of mechanical and structural engineering principles.
Salary Range: AUD$ 76545 – AUD$ 86515
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing designs for mechanical, structural, and process systems using CAD software
- Carrying out CAD work and design drafting, including the preparation of design and fabrication drawings
- Attending project sites (occasionally) to assist with 3D laser scanning, setout activities, or site investigation work to support accurate design and project delivery
- Assist with project management activities and support the delivery of engineering projects
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to achieve high-quality engineering outcomes
What we’re looking for:
- A recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2-3 years of experience
- Experience in delivering piping and structural design in water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated site exposure and practical problem-solving ability in mechanical/structural design.
- Working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards (AS/NZS 4100, AS/NZS 1657, AS/NZS 5131, AS/NZS 4041)
- Familiarity with water authority standards (e.g. SEQCODE and WSAA Standards)
- Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCad (or equivalent CAD/BIM software)
- Experience with FEA software (e.g. SpaceGass, IDEA StatiCa, Strand7)
- Experience with point cloud processing software (e.g. FARO SCENE, Autodesk ReCap).
- Experience with fluid flow analysis fundamentals and software (e.g. EPANet) is preferred.
