About the position

The City is seeking a proactive Grants & Public Policy Officer to join our high performing team dedicated to improving the liveability and prosperity of the Cockburn community.  The successful candidate will identify, coordinate and apply for external grants and awards on behalf of the City of Cockburn.  In this role you will advise, record, and oversee the incoming grants and acquittal process across the City. You’ll also develop and communicate complex information into easy-to-understand language suited for the target audience. This includes the development and communication of public policy, parliamentary submissions and other similar reports.

About you

Your interpersonal and relationship-building skills, coupled with your exceptional communication and report-writing skills will persuade state and federal government and the private-sector to dedicate funding to City projects to offset the financial input from ratepayers.  You will develop Communications including newsletters and updates about grants and awards and support the Advocacy & Public Policy team with Communications.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Extensive experience preparing grants and/or awards applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exemplary report writing and research skills
  • Knowledge of government responsibilities, policies, and processes
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and time-management skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and proactively.

Salary: $90,331.96 – 95,827.15 per annum depending on skills and experience.
