Grounds Team Leader

Full-time, Permanant Position, circa

MLC is renowned for its outstanding grounds and gardens, and we are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and customer focussed Team Leader to lead a small team and manage all aspects of the external presentation of our beautiful campus grounds.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:

• Strong horticultural experience and knowledge with ideally with a supporting qualification

• Experience in supervising and leading a small team, and working collaboratively with others

• The knowledge and ability to seasonally plan garden planting and grounds maintenance schedules

• Sound mechanical aptitude, knowledge of the use of grounds equipment, and the ability to train others in the safe use and application of appropriate equipment

• The ability to perform routine repairs to equipment, tools, water systems and irrigation

• Demonstrated physical fitness to perform repetitive manual tasks, heavy lifting, equipment movement, bending and stretching

• Computer literacy and the ability to use simple online maintenance management systems

• Strong knowledge of safe work practices and OHS protocols when applied to grounds and general maintenance activities

Attractive MLC benefits include: salary @ $85,000 per annum inclusive of leave loading, up to 6 weeks leave per year, lunch provided daily and use of gymnasium and pool,
