Job Description

As the Group Chief Security Officer you will take the lead on all things security-from building enterprise-wide frameworks to overseeing compliance with national standards. You will be the go-to expert for security risk management, threat assessment, and security operations, working closely with executive leaders and government partners. With a team at your side, you'll implement the right systems, tools, and protocols to protect our people, data, and assets-while driving a culture of security awareness across the business.

You will:

  • Manage a protective and information security framework for Adecco Group Australia including comprehensive security policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations, including the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP), Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF), ACSC - 'Essential 8', Australian Privacy Act 1988, DFR Security Standing Orders, Information Security Manual (ISM), and Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
  • Conduct threat, vulnerability and risk assessments to inform the security program, prioritise security activities, and uplift security maturity under an industry recognized standard such as NIST, IRAP or ISO27.1k. and commensurate establishment of a risk-based security controls library, and a supporting assurance and reporting program as part of the Security Framework.
  • Lead security for the Group including key vendors, MSSPs, and contractors, providing guidance and support to ensure effective security operations.
  • Oversee the appropriate identification and implementation of security technologies and systems to protect the company's information and assets.
  • Function as a point of contact for Adecco Group Australia with federal government agencies and other external partners to ensure alignment with national security standards.
  • Develop and deliver security awareness and training programs for employees to promote a culture of security awareness.

Your background will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in a senior information and protective security leadership role, preferably with recent relevant exposure to the DISP, ISM, IRAP or similar policy and compliance frameworks.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP), Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF), ACSC - 'Essential 8', Australian Privacy Act 1988, DFR Security Standing Orders, Information Security Manual (ISM), and Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
  • Strong understanding of information security principles and best practices including threat identification, controls development and assurance and incident response.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) are highly desirable.
