Tasks & responsibilities
- Shampooing and conditioning hair.
- Colouring, straightening, and perming hair with chemical solutions.
- Cutting and styling hair with scissors and trimmers such as skin fade, taper fade, low skin fade etc
- Shaving and trimming beards and moustaches.
- Keep up to date with current hairdressing trends, techniques, and products and make recommendations to clients.
- Cleaning work areas and sanitising all the tools.
- Arranging appointments and collecting payments
Qualifications & experience
- At least 1-year recent experience barbering or hairdressing
- Certificate 3 in Hairdressing or relevant experience
- A strong commitment to safety
- A willingness to learn and develop skillets.
- Experience with the latest men’s hair cutting and beard styles such as fades and beard sculpting.
- Experience in straight razor shaving and moustache styling.
- Sound oral communication and customer service skills.
- Positive attitude
- Physically fit and healthy.
- Attention to detail.
- A view to long term employment and career prospects.
