What you will be doing
Lead the development and implementation of Strand’s risk and internal audit strategy, including a fit-for-purpose operating model and ERM framework.
Define risk appetite, key risk indicators, and deliver insightful reporting to the Audit & Risk Committee and executive team.
Oversee internal audit planning and execution, focusing on key operational, financial, and compliance risks.
Ensure compliance with relevant Australian retail regulations, including Consumer Law, Privacy, and Modern Slavery legislation.
Drive the selection and adoption of GRC technology and build internal data analytics capabilities to enhance risk insights.
Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability and proactive risk management.
Oversee the Loss Prevention function, including stocktake integrity and investigations.
Collaborate across the business to embed a risk-aware culture, manage regulatory relationships, and prepare for emerging risks.
Provide independent, strategic advice on governance, controls, and risk across the organisation.
Manage special projects, investigations, and insurance coverage reviews as required.

Who are you?
A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; post-graduate qualifications are a plus.
Professional certifications such as CIA, CRM, or CISA are highly regarded.
8+ years’ experience in risk, audit, or related roles—ideally with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
A strong background in the retail or consumer-facing sector is preferred.
Proven success in building or transforming high-impact audit and risk functions.
Experience implementing GRC technologies and developing data-driven risk insights.
Deep understanding of the Australian regulatory landscape and compliance frameworks.
Solid knowledge of leading risk and audit standards (e.g. COSO, ISO 31000).
Exceptional leadership, team development, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Sharp analytical thinking, with the ability to translate complex issues into clear, actionable advice.
Confidence working with ERM tools, audit platforms, and technology-enabled control environments
