As a Safety Advisor, you will be responsible for driving safety investigations, corrective actions, and promoting a positive safety culture throughout the organisation. We are seeking a candidate who possesses a good understanding of OHS and WHS Legislation, relevant Australian Standards, and other relevant Legislation.

Your primary responsibilities will include facilitating and developing our "Arrive Safe. Work Safe. Home Safe." culture within PACCAR, leading complex investigations, delivering safety training, workshops, risk assessments, conducting site safety audits, and identifying work site hazards and risks. As a team player, you will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, manage multiple priorities to meet agreed deadlines, and provide advice and support to the business.

-        Facilitate and continue to develop our Arrive Safe.Work Safe.Home Safe culture within PACCAR

-        Conduct safety investigations and identify corrective actions to address safety issues in the workplace

-        Deliver safety training and workshops, and transfer safety knowledge and learnings to others.

-        Ensure compliance with relevant OHS and WHS legislation, Codes of Practice, and Australian Standards

-        Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote safety awareness and continuous improvement

-        Manage multiple priorities to meet agreed deadlines

-        Conduct site safety audits, reporting on areas of risk, improvement, and corrective actions

-        Identify work site hazards and risks, including any changes to processes, plant/equipment, etc.

-        Facilitate risk assessments and maintain risk registers

-        Undertake regular safety monitoring of contractors to verify safety compliance and conducting due diligence review as required

-        Prepare core briefs/toolbox talks to be delivered

-        Be the first point of contact and provide advice to the business and escalate where appropriate

-        Support the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager in managing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders

Maintain Velocity EHS and relevant registers

  • Must have a certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent tertiary qualifications
  • Desirable - Certifications in specific safety management systems, such as ISO 45001, Incident Investigation and auditing
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities to meet agreed deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both interpersonal and written, and the ability to provide high-level customer service to a diverse business
  • A genuine interest and passion to learn and develop new skills
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills
  • A collaborative working style, ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate a proactive approach to engaging internal and external stakeholders
  • Display flexibility and responsiveness and has the initiative, attitude and ability to thrive within a dynamic, challenging and changing environment
  • Previous experience balancing a hands-on, roll your sleeves up approach with a strategic mindset and bigger picture mindset
  • Demonstrated success in the development of safety cultures that promote workplace health & safety while supporting the achievement of organisational deliverables
  • Leading and participating in incident investigations
  • Good understanding of OHS and WHS legislation, ISO 45001, Australian Standards and relevant Legislation
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience
