Position Overview: As an IMS Systems Programmer, you will deliver high-quality software support and services for z/OS Mainframe IMS systems to our client.
Key Responsibilities:• Respond promptly to service requests from z/OS customers, focusing on IBM IMS and related OEM software products.• Provide primary support for issues related to IMS and associated OEM products.• Ensure 24/7 support• Follow best practices for efficient installation of OEM software Client standards.• Addressing technical challenges promptly to ensure smooth transitions.• Collaborate with Disaster Recovery Services to implement customer disaster recovery plans effectively.• Maintain a schedule that optimizes resource management for timely implementations and upgrades.• Adhere to ITSM change control procedures.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.• Over 10 years of professional experience in IBM z/OS IMS administration and systems programming support.• Familiarity with IBM tools for IMS is advantageous.
Specific z/OS IMS Requirements:• Extensive experience with IBM z/OS IMS system administration and support.• Proficiency in IBM z/OS IMS system installation, configuration, and maintenance.• Strong understanding of IBM z/OS IMS database management and transaction processing.• Experience with IBM z/OS IMS system performance tuning and optimization.• Knowledge of IBM z/OS IMS system security and compliance requirements and RACF interfaces.• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex IBM z/OS IMS system issues.• Familiarity with IBM z/OS IMS system backup and recovery procedures.• Experience with IBM z/OS IMS system integration with other mainframe and distributed systems.• Strong documentation and communication skills.• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
