About ICU
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a 35-bed unit with 30 funded ICU beds which opened in June 2005. The Unit is an amalgamation of the old ICU and the Cardiac Surgery Recovery and is an impressive upgrade in equipment and facilities for staff and patients. The unit is known for providing treatment to a broad range of patients, including liver transplant, spinal injured patients, neurosurgical, thoracic, cardiac surgery, general medical and liver failure. It provides care for in excess of 2000 patients per year. There are approximately 200 nursing staff, 35 medical staff and 7 admin staff working in the Unit.

About the role
To deliver a customer focused service to patients, their families and visitors, administrative assistance to the clinical ward staff and accurate data transmission of patient movement. The Ward Clerk will provide clerical services, maintain patient records, uphold the philosophies of the unit and perform other duties as required.

  • Employment Status: Permanent Part-Time
  • Hours per week: 16 hrs - every Monday & Tuesday (1130-2000)
  • Appointment period: May 2025 - Ongoing

  • Knowledge of Cerner, Medtrak and other health information systems.
