Our Sydney branch is looking for an experienced Import Sea Freight Operator to join our team based in Moorebank. 
 
Responsibilities

  • Timely processing of jobs – initial registration check of jobs, lodgement of Sea Cargo Reporting, completion of invoicing-related tasks, and receipt of Delivery Orders

  • Check for complete and accurate registration of Consols, Shipments and Jobs

  • Send Import Pre-alerts to consignees and external brokers if applicable

  • Report Import Cargo arrival to Customs as required by local legislative requirements

  • Liaise with Carrier upon arrival; collect relevant shipping documents and scanning them into CW1

  • Liaise with suppliers (agents, carriers, overseas agents) regarding any delays or issues and update relevant parties

  • Ensure customer and agent invoicing and financial cost processing (local, overseas, commissions) are completed within required time frames

  • Where required arrange movement of cargo back to warehouse for deconsolidation

  • Handle Claims and Cargo discrepancies per prescribed procedures

  • Ensure Cargo consigned to Bank or cargo subject to Original Bill of lading is released only when the required documentation is obtained and is in our possession

  • Solve problems as quickly and efficiently as possible, while reporting discrepancies and customer complaints with a view to preventing recurrence

  • Contribute to building and maintaining strong internal relationships within team and across other departments 

Requirements

  • Import sea freight operations experience within freight forwarding

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing 

  • Customer service driven attitude with the ability to find efficient solutions for the customer

  • Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal, organisational, planning and time management skills

  • A can do attitude with passion, dedication and commitment to providing customer service excellence
