The Role
As Program Officer Open Space Policy and Planning, you will drive the development, facilitation, and implementation of policies and strategies that support community recreation and leisure needs in parks and open spaces. To do this successfully, you will bring a strong customer centric outlook to the role and a desire to foster the important role of parks and open spaces in the context of city planning, including how they should be planned, used and managed for greatest community benefit.
To do this you will possess good governance skills, a policy focus, understanding of park planning and knowledge of the Planning Act 2016, Planning Regulation 2017 and Brisbane City Plan 2014. This role provides an opportunity for your creativity and forward thinking in how we manage current and future assets as Brisbane grows. You will engage regularly with stakeholders across City Standards, Connected Communities, Asset Management and our external customers and work collaboratively to achieve our strategic goals.

Tertiary qualifications or equivalent competencies gained through structured training in park management, natural area management, environmental education, recreation planning or related disciplines.
