Position: Full-Time Permanent Chef
Location: Paddington, QLD Salary: $73,200 per year
This role requires a strong understanding of Japanese cuisine, excellent knife skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook high-quality sushi, sashimi, and hot dishes
Handle and maintain fresh ingredients, ensuring top-quality seafood and produce
Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
Adhere to strict hygiene and safety standards in all food preparation and kitchen operations
Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service flow
Assist in menu development and innovation, incorporating seasonal ingredients
Efficiently manage time and multitask in a high-pressure kitchen environment
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum 2 years of experience as a chef (Japanese cuisine experience required)
Culinary qualifications or relevant training (preferred)
Strong sense of cleanliness and responsibility
Expertise in Japanese knife techniques and ingredient handling
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
A team player with strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to maintain quality under pressure and work with precision
