Junior Customs Broker / Customs Compiler

Work From Home – Full Time Employee Role

About the Role

We’re a growing customs brokerage seeking a dedicated Junior Customs Broker or experienced Customs Compiler to join our team on a full-time employee basis.

This is a remote role (work from home) offering flexibility, variety, and a genuine pathway to becoming a fully licensed broker. You’ll be responsible for compiling and classifying customs entries, lodging quarantine declarations, and working closely with our broker and operations team across sea and air freight.

Who This Role is Ideal For:

  • A compiler looking to step up and broaden their responsibilities, or

  • A junior broker or Diploma of Customs Broking student seeking real industry exposure and long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile and lodge import/export customs entries (ICS – sea & air freight)

  • Classify goods using the Australian Customs Tariff

  • Enter customs-related data accurately into internal systems

  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations through accurate and complete documentation

  • Lodge quarantine entries (DAFF/COLS) and manage quarantine outcomes and BICON scenarios

  • Maintain accurate records and support brokers with documentation follow-ups and client communication

  • Liaise with depots, freight forwarders, clients, and government authorities as required

  • Assist the broker and operations team with overflow entries, escalations, and process improvements

  • Support internal workflow efficiency and compliance through structured file handling

What We Offer:

  • Full-time employee role

  • Work from home – flexible hours, no commute

  • Mentorship from licensed brokers

  • A clear, supported pathway to a licensed broker position

  • Supportive, professional team environment

  • Consistent job volume with varied entry types

  • Modern, systems-driven processes (Expedient-based)

  • Opportunity to make the role your own over time

About You:

  • Prior experience in customs compiling/classifying, or strong exposure via freight forwarding

  • Currently studying or recently completed the Diploma of Customs Broking (or actively interested in starting)

  • Familiarity with ICS, BICON, COLS, and Australian quarantine regulations

  • Confident with systems such as Expedient, Cargowise, or similar platforms

  • Excellent communication skills — written and verbal

  • Strong attention to detail — to show us you’ve read this properly, please attach a brief handwritten cover note.

  • Able to work independently in a remote setup, but willing to collaborate and adapt

  • Must be based in Australia (QLD preferred, but we’re flexible)
