Landscape Gardener

Reporting to: Operations General Manager, Head Gardener.

Eden Gardens is a premier destination for garden lovers, offering 1.2ha of beautiful Display Gardens. Our gardens are renowned for their beauty and tranquillity, providing inspiration and enjoyment for visitors of all ages.

This position is responsible for the ongoing maintenance and Improvement of the Display Gardens. These gardens offer a diverse range of horticultural situations Including Native, Water, Perennial, Formal and Woodland Gardens - candidates for this role should reflect that. This position offers many opportunities for personal growth and expansion of skills.

Key Responsibilities:

General Responsibilities:

• Maintain and enhance the beauty of display gardens through pruning, planting, landscaping, weeding, mulching, and watering.
• Ensure all garden areas are kept tidy, healthy, and visually appealing.
• Work In a small close-knit team led by the Head Gardener.
• Monitor and develop plant diversity and health in the gardens to maintain high visual standards.
• Support the Company’s Vision and Mission through all programs and activities.
• Involvement with projects to Redevelop areas of the gardens.

Knowledge, Experience, and Approach

• Extensive experience in practical gardening work.
• Horticultural knowledge and its practical application in gardening.
• Strong communication skills, written and oral.
• Ability to work both in a team and independently.
• Passion for horticulture, plant knowledge, and hands-on gardening.

Activities

• Engage in physical gardening work throughout the site.
• Knowledge and experience of applying Fertilisers, Herbicides and Pesticides In various situations.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, especially OHS and work practices.
• Safe use and basic maintenance of tools, equipment, and machinery.
• Good experience In Formal Hedging, Topiary and various pruning techniques.
• Experience of Irrigation systems and an ability to Identify watering requirements of plant groups.
