About the role

As a Law Graduate at HSUWA, you will play a crucial role in providing industrial support and advice to members. Working within our dedicated Industrial Team, you will be responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of strategies that protect and improve the rights and interests of healthcare workers across Western Australia.

What you'll be doing

• Providing advice and support on a range of industrial relations and employment law matters

• Be part of collective agreement negotiations

• Conducting legal research and analysis to support the development of union strategies

• Collaborating with the union's organising teams to ensure the effective representation of member interests

• Assisting with the preparation and presentation of matters before industrial tribunals and courts

• Staying up-to-date with changes in relevant legislation and case law

• Contributing to the continuous growth of the union

What we're looking for

• A law degree

• A strong interest and commitment to industrial relations and employment law

• Excellent legal research and analytical skills

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities

• A collaborative and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving

• A demonstrated understanding of the challenges faced by healthcare workers and commitment to the work of trade unions
