The Lead Electrical Engineer is responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of projects. This role involves leading a team of engineers and designers, ensuring project success from conception to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical engineering design and implementation for electrical projects 
  • Develop, review, and approve electrical schematics, drawings, and specifications.
  • Oversee and manage project timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients and vendors.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and innovative solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical engineering issues efficiently.
  • Interpret Scope of Work documentation and design drawings, using drafting software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or SolidWorks.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in Engineering or Project Management.
  • Current National Police Clearance.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • WHS Construction Safety Induction White Card.
  • Demonstrated good safety record and knowledge of Work Health & Safety.
  • Ability to work well under pressure whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise, schedule, and plan day-to-day work.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • High-level strategic and analytical thinking, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines whilst maintaining an organised and structured projects
  • Experience within a professional engineering firm, utilities, resources, or construction industry
  • Field management experience.
Position Accountabilities and Responsibilities
  • Interpret and comprehend the client’s scope of work and technical specifications.
  • Provide the Project Team high-level direction and support on technical queries.
  • Prepare and review work packs that include MDRs, ITPs, drawings, ITRs, JSAs, and SWMS.
  • Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel performance) and report regularly on project status.
  • Interpret Client needs and requirements and represent them in the field.
  • Conduct QA/QC inspections of foundation and lines construction.
  • Establish field test methods and processes for monitoring quality.
  • Create frameworks to measure project metrics and data collection.
  • Prepare red-line markups on drawings and maintain records for As-Built drawings.
  • Propose engineering solutions for site modifications where required.
  • Analyse and review engineering deliverables to confirm alignment with standards.
  • Liaise with clients daily to interpret their needs and requirements for allocated projects.
